Joel knocking out a burpee.
Derek, taking a post-Air Force nap in a pool of his own sweat.
Me... immediately following my 20th front squat. It isn't pretty, I know, but elite fitness comes at a price!
Sooooo, Air Force impressions: My strategy was to get through the thrusters as quickly as possible. I knew the squats were all going to hurt, but I figured if I could fire through the thrusters, I would have a bit of a break with the sumo deadlift high pull and the push jerks. Totally wrong. Again, the ingenious programming made the sets tremendously more challenging. By the time I got through my push jerks, it was all I could do to stabilize the overhead squats, so they ended up being the hardest element.
Derek, Joel, and I should up early to command PT to knock this one out, and it ended up knocking us out, but everyone championed through. The rest of our group showed up 30 minutes later for the same torture. Great WOD!
To recapitulate:
20 thrusters
20 sumo deadlift high pull
20 push jerks
20 overhead squats
20 front squats
4 burpees every minute, on the minute, until completion of all 100 reps.
My time to completion: 7:58, as Rx'd (95lb)
Grand total of weight lifted: 4.75 tons
