Sorry for the lighting and general lack of clarity. It is my garage and I am no Spielberg. 110lbs is my PR!
Now, not to get too far off topic, but I want to share two more things with you today:
1. I love my Vibrams Five Fingers KSOs!
Totally awesome. No more pain in the balls of my feet coming down from the pullup bar or rings!
2. I made this shake today (completely paleo!)
Yes, it is a goofy picture, but I am kind of a goofy guy.
Ingredients (just in time for St. Patrick's Day):
2 cups of fresh spinach
2 TBSP coconut milk
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup raw walnuts
1 whole banana (the one I used was a bit less than ripe... oh well, still good!)
Place in blender (I prefer a Vita-Mix) and blend to desired consistency. YUM!
STOP EATING PALEO. Grains: good for you and me. Also legumes and vinegar. STOP IT.
ReplyDeleteJoshua,
ReplyDeleteI'm no O-lifting expert by any means..but a few things could use tweaking. I know Caroline already emailed you about your hand position...go wider you won't have to lift the bar as far. You're also pulling early. Stop the vid at 10 seconds and you'll see your elbows are clearly bent while the hips are still closed. Also looks like your head is tilted up toward the ceiling...try looking straight ahead. Finally, looks like your landing position is a little bit wide...don't go any wider than your squat position. Keep working it, snatches are clearly the most challenging lift. The more you work it, the better it will get.
Dan,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I used your advice today in my skills session (it is a rest day, but I typically practice skills anyway). Changing my hand position helped greatly with regard to stability. I videotaped myself practicing with the wooden broomstick and focused on not pulling early. Very difficult! Bad habits are hard to break, but I got it near the end. I stayed true to my rest day, but I can't wait to try again!
Thanks, so much again!
